Prepare for an extraordinary afternoon as The Oblivion Project takes the stage at the Rocky River Senior Center on September 18th, 2024, at 1:30 PM. Admission is free, thanks to the generous support of the Local 4 Music Fund, the City of Rocky River, and a Music Performance Trust Fund grant. Formed in 2003, The Oblivion Project showcases the innovative and enchanting Nuevo Tango works of Argentine master Astor Piazzolla. Based in the musical crossroads of Cleveland, the group is a tight-knit ensemble of musical adventurers dedicated to exploring Piazzolla's language. The Oblivion Project has achieved significant milestones, including a sold-out debut at Severance Hall with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and a residency with the nationally acclaimed Contemporary Youth Orchestra. This journey has seen the ensemble perform educationally and entertainingly at various venues, leaving an indelible mark on audiences. Comprising graduates from prestigious institutions such as the Cleveland Institute of Music, the New England Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory, and the Conservatory of Music in Cologne, Germany, The Oblivion Project boasts a roster of exceptional musicians. Individually, they have graced the stage as ensemble members and featured soloists with renowned orchestras, collaborating with distinguished artists across genres.
